Attended a home and garden show in NE TN today. Actually had info on energy from solar and wind.... Got info on anything I could think of for future use in cabin building (insulation, vented vs. nonvented heating, generator use). I think worth the five dollars admission.

I love looking at models too. There are open houses around here due to the lake nearby and I love checking them out and getting ideas. I also LOVE just driving around the local lakes and looking at the different types of homes, cottages, and little cabins that people have built. I call it my exploring...My dog loves to go exploring with me. : )

I am blessed two to three times a week to eat breakfast with a group of retired engineers, etc (4-5) from the local Eastman Chemical. One of which has built several buildings and flipped homes and can't wait for me to start on my cabin. I may have found workers for the project.
This week, I could actually discuss off grid solar power when the subject came up... All from this site.
It's a toss up which I enjoy most, reading the posts on this site or these breakfasts with these men. Someone actually stopped by our booth last week and asked if I was married to one of the men. My response was no, I was his girlfriend and sometimes, we even invited my husband to eat with us... He was speakless.
