I passed mine with the help of Morphine and Dilaudid shots which is so powerful, you can't walk very well. The nurse said that the stone can also be blasted into pieces with ultrasound. But not sure of where that is useful.

I've heard sitting in a warm or hot tub all day and eating watermelon constantly will help break it down and pass it. I have no idea if this will work or not. My gal had stones and suffered greatly but she would not try this cure. I've heard that drinking colored colas will greatly increase the production of stones. Stay away from coke, dr, pepper etc.

Had to go the ER last night and it took 3 squirts of Dilaudid before I stopped whining. I've had it for a month now, tried Flomax, Chanca Piedra, Ibuprofen, Percocet, hot baths, vibration..

Off to the store for a watermelon. Thanks guys.

I had a stone imbedded in my ureter, it was excruciating. The second round to the ER from the pain (pain meds didn't work they sent home with me the first time) they gave me dilaudid. They kept me there 3 or 4 days and every 3 hrs another go until they got me squared away for surgery. Just do the surgery. They broke mine up with ultrasound or something, without making any new holes. I was asleep. Wake up, all done, go home.

Drink lots of OJ for the rest of your life. Helps keep the stones from coming back according to my surgeon.

I'm in the tub eating watermelon. May not work but tastes good. D day 36 hours. Yeah they also said they would break it up externally then go in and get the pieces. Seems like those could just be peed out.

You have my sympathy. Ouch!

Been through it 3 times, last one was right at Christmas 2 years ago. Ended up in ER feasting on a gravol/morphine mixture.

Once the blessed event occurs, get in the habit of drinking lots of water with some lemon juice mixed in. That advice came from the specialist during my follow up.

I'm home from the surgery. Just hurting now from the intrusion and peeing blood but should be able to get back to cabin work later this week. Stone to be analysed. Now I just need to kick the Percocet addiction.

Thanks for all the replies and advice.

Yeah, hang tough, the part you dreaded is over.

I peed blood to start, a full day before the pain set in. I had a stent to remove (they had me do it) a few days after surgery. When the bloody bits passed, they felt like new stones, but only lasted a few hours. Had one more ER trip over that. After a week post surgery, it was pretty much all done. Best part is when its all over.

Thanks again. First night of good sleep last night and back to normal bathroom activity today. Ahh, relief. I had a stone about 5 years ago but pissed it out fairly quickly. Next step is to determine the cause, still waiting to hear the composition. Most are calcium I understand, and also understand my favorite foods (peanut butter, meat, dairy) can be contributors. I'll eat brussel sprouts and lima beans if I have to not to go through this again. Been drinking water with lemon.
