Can anyone tell me why there are a few good old boys racing up and down the roads in their trucks chasing hound dogs? I can hear their dogs howling all over. Is this common across western Ontario? They do realize that all the property is private no?

Where you live wilbour? Hounds can be used for a lot of game, most commonly bear, cougar, and boar. Do you have any of those species in your neck of the woods?

Bird it is. All farms here.
I guess the boys are just running their dogs buy they drive up and down the road all day while the dogs run free. It's strange for a city slicker like me.

Well it turns out the boys are getting their dogs ready for hunting. They bring them over to our island by the truck load . Then they release them and chase them in their trucks. They drive the horses nuts and all the land is private. They are not hunting. I just wish these guys woud buy their own land and not use everyone else's.

It almost sounds like you are right around me - I was beginning to wonder if they started hunting season early this year, or I fell into a deep slumber and missed a few weeks. But that is what is going on, hunting dog train camp......being put through their paces before the season starts

Yep, I was guessing where the photo was taken and got it wrong. Pretty country in the photos!
