Post your good wishes (and maybe some advice *LOL*) here!!

To cabingal and GaryO: Bob and I wish you a happy and very, very long retirement as you begin your much-anticipated adventure. My advice is to have fun and not take life too seriously. Also, listen to your body - if you get tired, stop and smell the hmmm....bear scat?! *LOL* Bob's cardiologist tells us all the time, NO WORK within ONE HOUR of eating!!! Never, ever, ever!!! So after you eat a meal, sit and enjoy for an hour before you start working!

I hope you can keep us posted how you are making out. I am sure we will all enjoy reading your posts.

For the both of you - enjoy this time that you have earned. Remember to find the time for everything that you said that you would when you retired, and do it. Hugs to you both!

See, this is why this place is what it is.

Fine people.

Warm folks.

I hope to depict as much as we can, as it happens.

Y'all are the true inspiration, the real deal.

Congratulations you two! Get retirement warmed up for me. I'm going to take the plunge around this time next year. Everyone I know who's re-tired is not tired at all. In fact they are so busy they don't know how they ever fit a job into their day. Good luck and best wishes.

Congrats to you both!

Lee Valley has a great solar phone and USB charger. It is called the powermonkey extreme. A little pricy but fantastic.

Gary O - congrats! I have a cell phone BOOSTER at our place and it works great. This is what you might be referring to. You can tether your phone to it for internet connection but get extra download space as the regular rates are ridiculous.

Thanks beach and Gotta

I've been looking at LV

Going as cheap as I can, so prolly prepaid smarty with solar charger at first.
Just need it for GPS, Google, Email and...heh...phone.
I like the unlimited plans

OK, back on topic (I'm basking in the well wishing...please continue...)

Congrats to the both of you... I picked up one of those solar cellphone chargers at a 7-11 (while getting a slurpee). I didn't expect much out of it really, but it has surprised me. I use it at work or while in the woods. Hook up the phone and put the solar part on the dash of ambulance or my buggy.
