Worked in the electrical field most of my working life . I saw many of these fuse bypasses. A favorite was a copper penny in under a screw in fuse. foil across a glass type fuse. A copper wire soldered across a cartridge fuse. .Overfusing screw in fuses. You run into a lot of weird stuff.old243

bldg insp, depends on the iron content. I suppose it could be used more as a current limiter or a voltage drop for low voltage items.
