Oh geesh might check see what meds he is on that might be causing some of that. OK I will try post pics again. This is just tinkering you can do at home. Miss you ladies. It looks like early winter. Amish neighbor in his 70s came to pick pears next door today. Told me take all I want. He scaled ladder 30 feet with bucket like a squirrel lol I asked him what kind of pears they are as they are sweet and soft.. He said "good pear" with a chuckle. Said that's what he always called them.

Get a pic of your place and post it where you can see it everyday. Meditate on it. You will be there before you know it!

Quoting: Grandma Off Grid It looks like early winter hi and morning Kelly.well here Is in the 80 and almost 90.nice weather but I sort of think it will be a cold winter. my jam was so hard.ha ha ha.not all of it.a couple of jars.it could be used as chinking for a log cabin.well I spread it all on cookie sheets and drying it...for the grandsons to have some fruit leather.its working.drying and looks pretty cool.
Quoting: Grandma Off Grid He scaled ladder 30 feet with bucket like a squirrel lol
the fil called me last nite.told me he was dying.oh man.hes been like a dad to me.always loving jesus and setting a good example of Christian manhood.i tried to side step things and said "are u sure?"he said yes.i asked "are u sure they cant help u?" he said they are trying but he is dying.well sadder than sad.i was so glad to give my hubby the phone...he handled it better.well we are going over there this weekend.taking the grandkids to see their great grand father before its too late. all is well.gathering school clothes for the boys. got a couple of boxes of clothes in the mail.the teen grandson is use to wearing skinny jeans.this is the first time he ordered man size clothes and they fit.only he is use to skinny jeans.so anything short of skinny jeans is not gonna do it.so I boiled the pants in boiling water for 30 min.it helped.they are 100% cotton.now today I am taking in all sides of both pairs of pants to make skinny pants.lol. so this is my day.i hope u are good.iove the recipe u have for your corn and green beans.have a nice day.hugs cabi.

Hi Ladies, I have so missed being on here but goodness it has been so busy around here. Cabi, I am so sorry to hear of your fil having such a bad time. I do hope you all get to visit with him. My sil is to start chemo along with her radiation. I fear this will do her in quickly. I think it is just sinking in with the family that she will not "get better".
This past two weeks we have had a scare with my 15 yr. old grandson. He passed out while talking to my daughter and has since had an Echo on heart and worn monitors two different times and seen two cardiologists. The first one said he needs a Pacemaker, which made this grandma quite freaked, lol. The pediatric cardiologist says will observe a bit more and maybe do a treadmill if further problems and believes will be ok without a pacemaker. His heart rate has been to 40 when should be more like 60-80. He is 6'2" and slim so they told him to go slow when getting up. We shall see. These kids are so precious can't hardly bear to see them with bad health issues.
I am gathering yummy produce from the garden. The experiment I did growing potatoes in tires has not turned out so well. I have removed tires from two plants and only got a few handfuls, so probably won't try that again. Oh well, at least didn't have weeds, lol. My chickens are growing fast and hopefully will start laying before long.
I found a nice gas range on Craigslist for $45 this week! We have all wall siding up except a couple of pieces and only lack trim in bedroom. Hubby priced our RV this week to someone who inquired, so I am hoping for a quick sale. We have moved our king sized bed into cabin and it takes up most of the room, lol. Some things I just don't like to skimp on though and plenty of sleeping space for comfort is one of them.
Look forward to reading posts from all and hear how things are going for you.

Kelly, I can't believe your sunflowers! Mine are not even five ft. tall. I did have a delicious watermelon from my garden today. I'm afraid it got eaten too quickly to get pics, lol. It was so very sweet!
We made a bit more progress on the cabin, see pics on members projects thread. I am getting so excited and wanting to start moving in, lol. Although we have been sleeping there already, I do need to wait until kitchen and bath are a bit further along, I guess.
After all the cool days this summer now we are getting hot high 80 degree days, go figure. I just checked propane prices and we will probably use our big heater this winter since we've not gotten a stove yet. Hopefully by next year we can have a woodstove installed and lots of wood in store. We will keep the hookup for the propane heater for use when we will be gone overnight so the place will be bearable when we come home. Yes, I guess we have turned into wimps in our aging years.
We are planning to go pick up three more guinea keats in a few days. Hubby wants to add a few more to help control ticks next year. The one guinea we got a while back sticks close to our hens and they all constantly seem to be foraging around our place. Fortunately they have not found our garden, however they get lots of scraps of vegies and are getting quite plump. They have eaten several small snakes, which makes me glad. Snakes are my mortal enemies.
I am looking forward to starting a small fall garden of greens and such and I suppose it is getting about time to do so. I will miss having all the fresh produce. But soon it will be time to enjoy chili and home made soups and start doing some sewing. Life is good.
