rayyy,
I'm in the same boat. Third knee surgery this coming Friday. I, too, got the majority of my place done this summer while still recovering from surgery #2. (molson and aleve helped ) The only thing I can offer is to say - try to keep in in perspective. I've got close friends and a father-in-law that are facing terminal illnesses and whenever I start to feel a bit low, I think of them.
Hang in there,
matt

Sorry to read you've been laid up by a bum back...nothing can stop ya dead in your tracks like back pain! When I had a disk slip in my back a few years back the only real significant relief I found was ice packs...the gel packs that you stick in the freezer work best. I'm not one for wanting to use ice-heat is more to my liking but in this case I was driven to find something that worked If ya haven't given it a try, do it...you may be surprised as well

I like tcmatts advice...there is always, always, always, always, always (get the point?) to be thankful for!

Best of luck rayyy and good luck to you too Matt. I hope you both have swift recoveries

I can surely sympathize as I deal with degenerative disc disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis. It is quite irritating to me as I was healthy all my life but I am thankful my doc was wrong 12 yrs. ago when he said I'd be in a wheelchair in 10 yrs. I refused to accept that and though I can't do near what I once did, I do still garden hope to help out some when we start our cabin this year. Yes, if we look around we can always be thankful. I find myself most thankful that we just got a great report on my daughter who was diagnosed with lung cancer last year. Her recent scan showed the lesion has gotten smaller and has begun to calcify. She does not have to scan for another year. With no treatments, just implementing a healthy diet, no smoking for 5 months, and LOTS of prayer this was wonderful news for us! rayyy, hang in there and give your back time to heal. I hope it is better soon and you are up and about.

I hope you are feeling better soon rayyy. I'm will trollbridge on the gel ice packs. They work great. I usually alternate using them and then heat. If you enjoy reading rayyy, how about getting some books on cabin life?

tcmatt - good luck with your upcoming surgery!!

tnky03 - that is great news about your daughter. I pray her diagnosis continues to be good. Congratulations to you for being such an inspiration not to give in and to keep active with a bad prognosis.

There is so much to be thankful for!!!

Just, glad to hear you are being helped. I see a new Rheumatologist soon, hoping it's a good one. TB, thanks and yes, so very relieved! Thanks Hattie, LOL I'm afraid if I ever stop I might not get started again.
