Wondering what every bodies plans are for Thanksgiving?
Are you traveling or going to the cabin? Staying home and hosting? Doing nothing but taking a long nap? Hunting? Watching football? Shopping at 8pm when some stores have now decided to open(GADS!)? Watching the Macy's Day Parade?
What did all you Canadians do on your Thanksgiving?

We get to spend 2 nights at the cabin as we travel "o'er the river and through the woods to grandmother's house" for Thanksgiving.  We're headed to my mom's house, so we'll stay a night at the cabin on the way there and a night on the way back. We purposely looked for land on the way to her house, as it's a 7 hour drive in good weather.
NO SHOPPING!
How about you?!

No Shopping for me either Montanan! I have pretty strong opinions about stores being open that day  
We are hosting for 24. Travel safely, enjoy your family time......good thought on building your cabin along the way to your moms....a lot easier going "o'er the river and through the woods" when it isn't such a long drive!

Hiya Troll.. well, I have to work half a day on Wednesday, but the family and I are loading up after that and headed to the ranch.
I was going to cook an entire meal out there, and could change my mind back anytime.. heh, but I think I will pre-cook and carve the turkey up at the house and then cook the sides out there. We do not have a stove out there yet.. should be a month or so, but I can turn my smoker into an oven and cook most the rest of the stuff. I just figured to keep it nice and simple and just re-heat it all easier.
We are loaded up with giant marshmallows and chocolate and graham crackers so s'mores are ready too!
We have like 3 gallons of spiced cider and 1/2 cord of seasoned oak to haul out.. so.. we will be set ;)

Working.Trucking is a 24/7 business. My company would love it if we never went home. I can't wait to tell them that I need to be home on Dec 15th for my daughters graduation from collage.

well i gars getting the grandsons on wed.and we are having them for many days and we are doing up all the fixings..and then on friday..we are making salt dough ornaments and then sat.putting up our little xmas tree so they can have a hand in decorating it.
tomorrow me and gar are going to pick all the free walnuts we want.and i am gonna make my famous walnut pie!

Yum walnut pie! I don't like to eat in truck stops. The food to me is not very good and its expensive. We had our Thanksgiving meal at home last week. Had Texas BBQ from Soul Mans yesterday. That was really good. Leftovers tonight.

Happy TG to our American friends.
Us in Ontario...garden work, bow hunting for whitetails, college FB on Sat. Gardening, cover boat,NFL/CFL football, bow hunting and the Inlaws for an earlier harvest supper.

I'll be finishing a cedar screen door for a customer so I can install it on the following Saturday. I'm self-employed and very thankful to be so busy. It will be nice to get to spend the day around the house, surrounded by the dogs, instead of on a job site.

Our thanksgiving was quite some time ago, but Bob's brother, sister-in-law and dog joined us for dinner which was a really nice treat. Normally we are just the two of us (and Molly) this time of year until spring (snow issues). Bob smoked us a turkey and we had salad, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes and apple crisp for dessert. They stayed for 3 nights so we had a really great visit. Bob and his brother went grouse hunting and his brother got his first blue grouse as well as a ruffie. So much to be thankful for!!!

As always, I'm doing the Turkey. Not quite sure where I'm taking it but it won't be going to the compound. I'll be there the day after if the weather comes through as forecast

We are having 14 for dinner at our house on Friday....We usually go to the cabin but it just didn't work out this year because the kids are all in high school and have jobs! Jason is a bakery manager so he has to work on Thanksgiving anyways.... I have been off since last thursday and I think I will continue until New Years!

First holiday at the cabin for us, weather is cooperating, 69 degrees , I bet it hits the low 70's. I plan on breaking out the BB guns and let the good times roll.

Well I've been hunting at the cabin for the last three weekends anf Thurs it's time to say thanks for the good meat comming from our land.
Venison steaks and gravy with mashed potatoes. And a free range turkey.

I am hosting Turkey day at my house, i have had the in-laws there all week! Friday i am kicking them all out and heading to the cabin hopefully in early afternoon for the rest of the weekend!

got the breads made.the pies made.the salads made and then tomorrow i cook our turkey and mashed taters and gravy and go pick our salad greens from our fall garden.everyone is coming .my daughter and her man and we have the little grandsons for several days.i make them stocking caps with big crocheted turkey legs on each side of the hat.looks so dog gone funny.i wanted to make 4 turkey hats so we could all wear them when we eat..i sure wish everyone a wonderful thanksgiving.of course all our Canada friends already had their thanksgiving day.

My day has started out good...I delivered a set of twins this morning (not trolls though ) and just had a cardiac arrest save. now to enjoy the rest of my day at work.
