If anyone else had posted this link I'd be inclined to think that it was a farce. If MtnDon says that it's true..... It certainly must be. Pretty darn cool cool device.

It probably uses a Peltier device, the same sort of electronic device that is used in those electric coolers like Koolatron. At least that's my guess.
You are right to be skeptical; it sounds far fetched. How about this one... a USB Toaster That is a farce from The Onion News Network. It is a joke through and through. There were a couple other devices but I forget what they are. I think you can still buy the box as a gift joke on Amazon.com
The folks that bring us the power producing stove make other useful products too.

I heard that these are not useful as a USB device. Because you never run a campstove for an hour, usually only a few minutes, your phone doesn't get much charge. And you wouldn't run your stove for an hour just to charge the phone, it's better to invest in an auxilliary battery.
But yes it is a curious device.
