 Anybody else got a bad case of spring fever???? 
Spring, is just around the corner, you can
feel it, in the air. The urge is so strong, to
move along, it doesn't matter where. The
first sign, is how restless you've become.
There's this burning desire, to be free.
Tired of the same old things, places you
want to see. There's a special name for
this afflictation, it comes but once a year.
It's called spring fever, but it's nothing you
have to fear. It affects millions of people,
in the same way. The long drawn out
winters, are to blame, I dare say. The
reason for this malady, is when a warm
gentle breeze, begins to blow. It can
throw you into a tail spin. Letting you know,
it's time to go, until next winter, sets in!

got to the cabin yesterday ,found these waiting for me just growing out of the front step.. not sure what they are accept welcomming.

After last weekend (snowed 18 in +) then the temps hitting in the mid 60's a couple of days later followed up with a little more snow..... I would say I AM READY for spring!!!!!!

A little spring weather...at least some sunshine...could certainly help my state of mind today.

Best of both worlds on this end. The house is at 6500. No snow, my catmint and daffodils are coming up already, and temps have been balmy.
As for the cabin at 8200', more snow than ever. I think I'll be skiing in May this year.

Spring has sprung!!!!!!
High of 65 today according to the weatherman and 75 tomorrow -------nothing lower than the 50's for highs in the next 10 days
looks like we will be able to eek by on the 7% remaining propane we have in our tank for heating I really did not want to order more(200 gal. min) and have to sit on it all summer.

Its 75F here. I took the restrictors off the bee hives so they can get in and out easier. The Irises, planted last fall, are sprouting, and the trees are budding out.
TB, I checked my propane which was filled to 50% last October; its still at 50%. I'm going to add another 250 gal this Summer when/if prices drop. That should hold me for a few years.

Yesterday was a nightmare here. Blowing snow and FREEZING....I mean FREEZING!!!! brrrrrrr.......The sun is out today and it is much warmer with no wind. Come on spring.....Please......

Hi Martian, can always count on the irises can't you? What color did you plant? I have pale yellow and lavender.
Yes...as far as propane....well, you suck!!!! We went through 400 gallons this winter but that is better than usual. I will buy this summer too-after the price drops, hopefully, although I'm not holding my breath for much of a decrease

FWIW, I gladly got.rid of my large propane tank when the company refused to come & add propane below their minimum order of 500 liters or 132 US gallons, after being a 5+ year client but now between jobs & short to pay for their minimum. I now buy it at Costco when I go to the city every few months & save 40-50% of what the local dealer sells it for. I like to support locals but they are not supporting me, which sadly causes an economic spiral down for all. Better yet I'm weaning my use of too expensive propane completely as a goal for my off grid home & at my log cabin. But for propane, Costco has the best price by far.

TB, I planted lavender ones dug up from my previous place. I doubt I'll get any flowers this year, but its good to see the shoots.

MtnViewer,I would love to have no need for propane(except our gas fireplace). I hear what you're saying about the propane companies. We belong to a local co-op and last year ( and most years) we do their budget plan which consist of signing a contract and stating how many gallons we want and splitting the payment over 10 months. Well, normally they add to your tank as they are out in the area. I had an agreement with them to only add when we called, that we would monitor our own tank. Last year towards spring they added another 200 gallons without me calling and then expected payment by the end of the 10 months. Now I ask this-what is the point of a payment plan if a huge chunk is due over the last 2 months plus the normal payment??? They didn't seem to have answers to that question. This winter we started with all that 200 gallons plus some so I just paid when I ordered the other 200. Painful to cough up that much $$ at once especially when self employed and work is slow but on the other hand it was a one time occurrence and then done....so glad we won't need more!!!! Too bad insurance companies don't like wood stoves!

Martian,I love the lavender...you might get a few flowers, but you are right...it is good to get at least the shoots that way you know most likely there is no rotting going on!

Okay...I just got home from driving my daughter to work and this is a sure proof sign that spring is officially here................the temporary greenhouse is getting ready to go up in Kmart's parking lot!!!!!!!!!!!

I went for a walk and my 8 year old broke her bike out of the shed for the first time. She was going to ride/us walk.Didn't get very far before she lost control and wiped out. Bummer,but a skinned knee is a definite sign of warm weather!!!!!
As for another sign of spring.....unfortunately.me feeling the "burn" while walking back up the big hill we live at the top of!!!!! Now you know how lazy I've been all winter
