Do we really need these extra ads that pop up the first time we select a topic to read?

Wow, I was just looking at my old ‘ads’ titled thread, how did you know lol? No answers there but it’s driving me nuts too.
Weird thing: this is worst on my Apple iPhone. It has Ad Blocker Pro, no help. I picked up my Chrome book I never use, gets the forum with no ads. I loaded google chrome on the iPhone, still gets the ads.
Pretty sure my old desktop back at the grid doesn’t have the ads. On the iPhone I’m lucky to get 2 forum lines to read between all the ads.

I’m saved! Back at the grid today, as I remembered my desktop does cabin forum no ads. Confused, I learned it has Adblock. But so dies my iPhone. There was no app icon for it but I finally found the app. Sure enough, ‘pause blocking’ was turned on for some reason. Turned it off, BINGO, surfing cabin forum, no pop ups!
