Interesting history. There is no mention of an important downside. Truss structures, roofs, and floors can burn faster and collapse quickly when a fire breaks out. Firefighters can be subject to more risk if they have to enter to save people. I-joist floors also burn and collapse more quickly. But that is not necessarily a reason to abandon trusses, as there are advantages, such as fewer materials needed. I do wish people didn't build so many of the larger-sized houses, though.

I watched that yesterday. Very interesting video. I dont really like how complex these roofs are but my next house will be one I build and il be useing trusses. Possibly even a garage with trusses also.
