I had a stupid kitchen accident, an encounter with a very sharp knife. Usually sharp cutting tools are safer than dull ones. I tripped on a misplaced box and in my grabbing to break my fall sliced my thumb. Still not sure how that played out but I have 4 stitches and a splint. The splint to immobilize the thumb because of the cut location.

Oh no! Hopefully you heal quickly. Maybe this will give you chance to try out that new deck you built. Take it easy for awhile and plan your next project or two.
Also, I don't think pink is your best color.

Going well, the cabin is still standing, defying all engineering theories. Our boys are now at the age where they are going to the cabin for trips without us. We are finding out just how much we didn't teach them every time we get up there after they leave,  .
The past year was mainly balancing between doctor's appointments for my husband and I, and helping take care of his parents and my mom, all while everyone was living in different states.

I had the stitches pulled today. Looks fine. Feels better than it did last weekend. It is surprising how many times a right-handed guy picks up or grips things with his left hand. The cut was just in the right, or wrong spot when grasping something. The spot where the thumb closes against a "thing" is right where the cut is/was.
I'm visiting a friend in WV today. The squared chestnut logs were probably cut in the early 1800s and repurposed about 20 years ago. Cool house.
