First reported in 2020, I just found this. I turn off my Iphone about once every two months. Turning it back on reboots the OS and checks for updates. Utilities/Settings/(looks like a gray oven burner)/General/scroll to bottom/Shut Down/slide to turn off.
I defeated a Ransomware virus on my Windows PC a couple of years ago. It locked up my PC and wanted $$ for a password to decrypt my files and restore access.
Windows has a feature called (windows backup restore point). You have to turn it on and set a restore point. Mine is set for once a week. That is the amount of data I'm willing to lose. It does a restore copy of your system thus deleting the virus because it overwrites the virus with an older copy of your system. It was so satisfying.
There are other backup/restore methods now. Do your research and choose a method you like.

I may be switching my PC security from Webroot tp Bitdefender. Webroot scored highest when it first came out because it used the cloud for virus signatures instead of your PC. McAfee would bog down my PC during a scan to the point of unusable for an hour. Thats why I switched to Webroot.
But now it appears others have caught up to the Webroot model and even passed it. Sometimes a company will stop its development work and just sit back collecting fees.

I have used Bitdefender for many years. PC and Android.
I have always been able to find a discount when the years subscription is about to expire. Bitdefender also has plans which cover multiple devices. Works for me.
