...is that I had to use some split firewood to make kindling. For decades I have always had construction cut-offs of 2x's, 1x's, even 4 or 6x's to use for making kindling. They are often a great length, or easy to cut with the miter saw and usually split nicely. Today I had to make kindling from firewood pieces. I need a construction project, but I don't need a new building.

Thanks. Two year dried pine splits very nicely without needing to be whacked very hard.

I’m just starting to run into the same problem? I do have some wood from trees I recently took down but it will be a while before it is dry. I only use wood for the occasional outdoor fire but I’m dreading the day I need to pay for some firewood (when we have guests). I do think I need another shed so ……
