A friend’s father made a beam trolley and mounted it on a ceiling joist in his garage to move his fishing boat off the top of his car to the other side of the garage. Simple and near effortless compared to doing it the hard way.
It’s a good reason not to drywall your garage or shed ceilings.

Nice links!
My 1st build ('83-'84) was mostly with the salvage lumber from the 1896 barn on the family farm. Of course it had the hay trolley; I saved the trolley and rail for over 30 years but never repurposed. It all went in the estate sale.....sad, but I cant save everything!
