I believe this guy was a former Army Ranger. Good cooking in the woods. Anyone know what water filter he uses for the river water into the gallon jug? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAM6QkVc0G0

Its a sawyer gravity unit. https://www.sawyer.com/products/squeeze-water-filtration-system
I use one in the winter to filter my lake water so I don't have to pull it in by toboggon. Works very will, but slow. I have mine mounted on the bottom of a 5gal pail. Fill it up and walk away, couple hours later I have 5 gal of drinking water.

I run the HydroBlu unit for backpacking, same concept as the Sawyer, just a little more compact and i think it had more flexibility for fitting onto Smart water bottles as that's what i used instead of heavy Nalgene bottles when i backpacked Alaska.

We use the Sawyer Squeeze when backpacking when filtering less than ideal water. We also occasionally use, mostly when car camping, a gravity system I put together using 2 water bladders and a Sawyer Squeeze, slower but works well.
When backpacking in areas with high mountain streams running clear We use a Steripen, a UV water purifier. At first you think it can't be doing anything but it works! Lake water we always filter.

Thanks FishHog/All, I bookmark the link. The bucket model looks good.

I've had great luck with Hydroblu as well. I use it while backpacking in conjunction with a CNOC collapsible 2 liter Bladder. I never seemed to have good flow with the sawyers.
I must say, I enjoy watching those Maine Cabin fixes.
