Hi all, we recently had to move my mother into a long term care home. When we were cleaning out her old place I grabbed 5 tins like the one in the picture. My mom always used them to store Christmas baking and I have found memories of raising them when I was a kid. They are solid metal with plastic lids. Some have a yearly calendar on them from 1969. My mother thinks they originally contained lard. I have been searching the internet to try and find something similar. There are no company names etc on them. I'm just curious if anyone has seen or remembers something similar as I'm trying to find the history behind them. Thanks in advance!

I did a google search using your image and no matches came back. Are there any stampings anywhere on them?

I believe we had some similar to that which you show. If memory serves, they came from a Gas Station promo thing, like they used to give out glasses, cups and other things.
Alternatively, could have also come from those coupons (tickets) people used to collect from their cigarette packages. Several cigarette companies used to do such promo's.
