I need a dozen pairs of Carhart’s double front logger jeans once again ,last batch I ordered in 2012 have now fallen apart in certain areas ,Problem is in Canada when I bought the last batch ,they were $125.00 a pair ,so I Ebay ordered them from Florida for $25.00 a pair with very reasonable shipping added .If you find a good deal let me know ,I really do need another dozen .Everything has been crazy expensive that I have seen . I have some Riggs ,they are very good ,I like the Smith workwear ones (my last name is Smith ) ,and I can’t stand the crappy fit of Dickies (they are crack riders) yet lots of people like them .

The Carhharts are like 55$ on the official website. Wonder I wonder how the price gets so jacked up in Canada. Good tip on the Bourbon. I am seeing Budweiser is not even U.S owned.

I saw the thread title and click to tell you about Carhartt. But you got it covered. I'm a big Carhartt person. I wear the double front duck brown pants ALWAYS and mine are the carpenter ones with hammer loop and ruler pocket. I had Carhartt suspender buttons too.
All my work wear for my cabin/ranch is Carhartt, in fact, Carhartt is the official workwear of the Double J Ranch. jjapparel.jpg

Bruces, try: Dungarees You can get factory seconds also, I just ordered a factory second J130 stonewashed active jacket, so when it shows up, I will be curious as to what is wrong with it. Basically half off. They say maybe a blemish in a seam, shading of material, crooked logo etc.
UPDATE: my factory second J130 active jacket came in today, ordered brown and I see absolutely nothing wrong to my eyes, just all interior tags are stamped IRR for irregular. Paid $49 for this 109-129 dollar jacket, I'm happy.

I like Carhartt products. Except the metal over the shoulder fasteners on the bib overalls. When I bend over to saw a tree, the metal fasteners slip apart. I called customer service looking for insulated bib overalls and they directed me to:
https://www.carhartt.com/products/carhartt-yukon-extremes-men/Carhartt-Yukon-Extremes -Insulated-Biberall-104461
These have plastic clips that do not come apart. I told them, " why don't you put those clips on all your overalls".
Yep, Bourbon. On the weekends, I get together with Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, and Old Grand Dad to sip some Wild Turkey.

I assume most trucks are still made here.
Last summer I replaced the engine in my cabin commuter, 1983 Chevy Blazer. I wasn't sure how long it would be down. So I bought another older truck, a '99 Ford Ranger for $4K. Comparable Toyotas were twice the price, at least. No issues with the Ford, so far. Only took me a week to swap the Blazer engine so didn't really need the Ford, but it does get much better gas mileage so we've been using it primarily. 0130201529_Burst01.j.jpg

Paul’s , I do have to point out that the Ford is not near as cool as the Blazer. My 70 ElCamino is under a foot of snow right now. Not very good in snow either. So did you put a hot engine in her?

You bet!
Love El Caminos, had many. In fact I was keeping my eye open for a 4x4 Elco for the cabin. Didn't have time to build one and ended up with the Blazer instead.

This is a bit off topic, so I apologize: I'm in the UK and most of our manufacturing industries where closed during the Reagan/Thatcher era, so that most of the products available are cheap Chinese goods. With some effort we can still get quality tools and products that are UK, or particularly German made. Recently I've been searching for a smart battery charger and the kind people on this forum have been recommending US products, but I can't buy these in the UK. I'm also looking for solar panels and there is a UK company who sell US-made 'Sunpower' monocrystalline cells. They are expensive, but can someone tell me whether they are good for the high price?

I bought a new 2010 RAM 2500HD diesel, crew cab long bed, made in Saltillio Mexico.
But Toyota trucks are made in Princeton Indiana (Sequoia) and San Antonio Texas (Tundra).

Paul, right on, supercharged! Hey, like your Delco 12SI alternator upgrade too, the turbofan on those are cool. They are basically a 10SI with improved cooling because of higher outputs, ie 56, 72 and 94 amp. Sanitary install, low profile, still close hood. I'm a hot rodder going way back, that era was my most active era in hot rodding. Throttled it back to not even a whimper now. But still live it in my mind.

Andrew.... yes Sunpower monocrystalline panels are very good quality. I think they are the only manufacturer that rates their panels to produce at over 90% original spec after 25 years of service.
(Where in the Higlands? We loved our time walking the West Highland Way... can't wait until the "Pox" subsides and we can go back to Scotland to walk some other Ways!)

Quoting: toyota_mdt_tech Paul, right on, supercharged! Hey,
Thanks TMT. I have my cabin to thank for that. The Blazer had a gutless 305 but ran good, used some oil. I was towing a lot of materials for the cabin, it was really struggling up hills. The blower was an easy way to add a couple hundred horsepower. The 305 got really tired last year and I came across a nice 350 (lots around now with all the LS engine swaps) and kept the blower, though it doesn't really need it. It does surprise guys to see it on a work truck.

Look at the VIN, I bought a new Tacoma in 98 and was made in Fremont California, GM joint venture building, I think Tesla is or was using that facility now, until they pulled ups stakes to head to Texas, refugee from high taxes and covid lockdowns.
Some Tacoma VIN's start with as 5, if yours does, its made in Tijuana Mexico.
Freemont Toyotas VIN started with a 1
