We have a good freeze going on. Driving on lakes already. Not a lot of snow though. But think I could get to cabin, slowly. Maybe an inch mostly the build up of frost. Rick have you been to T C ? Badger may have snow but probably blew away. Can you get across the river ? Great boreal lights last week borealguy. Wasilla has nothing, kinda starts near willow going north. Hatchers pass has snow road closed for the winter. Great wheeler time just kinda windy n cool. Was ten below recently. Hopefully snow coming. If you go , take one make one !

I have not been to the cabin in a couple of weeks but was up at Talkeetna last weekend. No real snow on the ground but with subzero temperatures the lakes and creeks are freezing up nicely.
All that may change this weekend, however. They are forecasting 10-18" of snow between Saturday and Sunday. Although, they are notorious for getting it wrong.
I'll be staying in town this weekend to go through the snowmachines and make sure they are ready for the season. Plus, I'm wary of riding into the cabin with the ATV and not being able to ride out if it snows a bunch. Wednesday the 11th is a holiday and I'm planning to take Thursday and Friday off and make it a 5 day stint at the cabin.

It's looking like the weather guessers were right. This is the Parks Hwy this morning at the Talkeetna cutoff.
I'm planning to head up to the cabin on Wednesday. Looks like I will go in with one of the snowmachines.

We have about 5-6 inches on the ground and we should get a pretty good dump today. I always view the deep snow as an extra security blanket putting more space between me and this crazy world. I love it!
