Any other fans of Eric Sloane out there?
For anyone interested in early American tools, construction, and woodworking: books written and illustrated by Eric Sloane are fantastic. They were written in the 60s and some are still in print — but much smaller than the original hard cover editions. I just got this set on Ebay and I really recommend them. There are so many interesting ideas to be gleaned on everything from cabin construction, metal work, axes, drying wood — the list goes on.
Museum of Early American Tools, A Reverence for Wood, and Diary of an Early American Boy were included in a set, but there were more.
Sometimes they're a bit hokey, but they belong on every cabin's shelf! Cheers. IMG_3664.JPG
