I've found that this website has a lot of good information on designing a room, as well as free plans for building all the cabinetry needed.

Some of the rooms are quite large and elaborate but there are always ideas that can adapted to a small space, like in this laundry room.

Now I don't have space for a 5'x10' laundry room but I do like the pull-out drying racks that are hidden within the floating laundry shelves.
