Only reason I'd do that is to better BUG seal the sides. But that would be with tape and such on the seams.
About the only change I would make to my own outhouse would be better sealing to better control bug entry. I'd still allow air in, but in a controlled manner where I could screen the inlet, and probably end up with less spider webs.
But, in my case, I have a fan running 24/7 pulling air through the vent, so really it's just about controlling/screening the inlet for me.
