I saw this on a Canadian homestyle show. The light bulb, which can be used inside a standard table lamp, has a built-in rechargeable battery. If the power goes out you can unscrew the bulb from the lamp and switch it on, thereby turning it into a portable flashlight/emergency light.

Good item to have around. I have 3 of these. These can be recharged with DC, solar or ac. If you use them outside with the solar panel plugged in. They automatically turn on at dusk. So far they seem to be holding up well. Remote controlled ac/dc light

Touching any part of a light circuit with a wet cloth goes against all ideas of safety, but I see what they are trying to show you.
