Saw this in Dwell magazine. Apparently it has the lowest power usage of any solar powered fridge at 201 kWh/year.

Pretty pricey. For the price difference, one could easily buy a bit larger solar panel and have some spare change. I have a 10 cu ft Vissani (fridge/freezer, same configuration) that cost about $500 and only uses about 29W/hr. What I would like to see is something like the Sunfrost refrigerators that are price-competitive. Wouldn't take too much to add a bit of insulation (and thus efficiency) to most standard fridges.

The best thing to do is to buy a chest freezer and convert it into a fridge using a temperature control gauge. Uses much less power than an upright fridge.
