I saw this on a show about the types of tools to have in case of an emergency. Should you ever have to break a car window to rescue someone (or your car runs into a water filled ditch or canal ). This tool can also be used to cut through a jammed car seatbelt.

If you ever do need to smash a car side window aim for the corner near the door handle. That's the weakest point.
