I was reading that typical AA or AAA rechargeable batteries can lose about 4% of their charge PER DAY just while sitting on the shelf and can only be recharged about 500 times before they are exhausted.
These batteries can be recharged up to 2100 times and will hold their charge much longer.

I use eneloop and charge them with a 12v Rayovac PS20A universal charger off a deep cycle battery.

I've always just used regular AA batteries and tossed them......probably time to stop that and get a bit more green  ....
Since we got solar we only use AA batteries now for some under cabinet kitchen lights like you get at Costco. They each use 6 batteries so I'd need to charge a bunch at a time. Most chargers are 4 port only, but I found an 8 port charger on Amazon.......

Went on a search and found these which i think I'll get instead...no more batteries needed. (I use Makita 18V lithium batteries for tools/radio/flashlights etc....
What are you all using AA batteries for? Are they even necessary anymore? Just asking....

I decided they aren't. Other than the 12-volt on-demand water pump for my shower, everything in my cabin (the lights, radio, iPad, Bluetooth speaker, media server--yeah, I know, really roughing it) now runs off Li-ion batteries, either by a self-contained battery or by a USB power bank. They seem to hold a charge forever, and there are lots of options for recharging via USB. port

I use AA & AAA in flashlights & small lanterns, remotes, clock, shortwave radio, weather radios, regular radios, outdoor/indoor thermometer, toothbrushes & my kids Xbox...Xbox eats them up.

Ikea AA batteries are identical to the enloop, made in the same factory and a lot cheaper.

Ive read that the amazon rechargeable batteries are the same as enloop. I bought both and they do seem to preform the same.
