I was reading through the Preppers Total Grid Failure handbook and they discuss having most of your cabin's electrical system running on 12V DC. One of the things they tested were compatible light bulbs, and the best they found were by LiRoyal.

Here's a couple others that I have. Both come with small solar panels. The first can be charged with usb or solar. The second can be charged with solar or 120 volts ac. Also can be used with ac like a regular light bulb. IMG_20180531_200359..jpg

We have our cabin running all on 12V. These use very little power and are bright and are a little cheaper.
