If you're installing outlets in an exterior wall you should make sure warm air and moisture doesn't leak through into the stud cavity.

These are better than the ones that already have the foam gasket if you are installing a vapor retarder because you can tape the vapor retarder to the wide flange.
The ones with the foam gaskets are good for use with sheetrock I suppose, but personally I'd be dubious about getting a perfect seal.

I just wrapped all of mine in heavy plastic. That might seal the box very nicely, but how are you going to get the wire through without "breaking the seal"? I just cut oversize squares of plastic wrapped them around the boxes and nailed them in, then poked the wire through the plastic and put a small beam of silicon around the hole. On the inside I taped them to the plastic sheeting, on the outside a small bead of caulk and a foam backed plate.
