This site lists places to get pure gas in case you want it to last longer to power an emergency generator.
Fuels with ethanol additives—basically any gas you buy at the pump—start to break down in as little as four weeks, though most people won’t notice problems for up to three months. Adding fuel stabilizer can stretch this to six to 12 months, depending on who you believe. If you plan on saving your generator for emergencies, ethanol-free gas may be worth trying to stretch it even longer.

If you can't find ethanol-free and want an alternative, aviation fuel is ethanol-free and stable for longer than typical gas. Costs a lot more though, typically an extra $ or so per gallon depending on your location.

In BC most of our fuel is 5% - 10% ethanol and has been like this for over a decade. Not sure what the rest of Canada is like.
I regularly store fuel for a year or longer (no stabilizer) and have never had a problem.

If you read the pumps in Canada. Regular has ethanol, midgrade has less and premium has none. I run premium in all of my 2 stoke stuff.
