Been running two 50W incandescent bulbs on two marine batteries but these only pull 7W for the same light as a 60W incandescent. Thats less than 1 amp so a couple of marine batteries will last hours and hours.

Installed those bulbs today and wow are they bright. Makes my 50W incandescent bulbs look like candles. Very happy with them and now only pulling 14W in stead of 100w. Will probably put one outside the door and one above the deck now.

Great article.

I chose to use 12V LED lighting. There's lots out there for the RV industry. You gain a lot of efficiency by bypassing the inverter. LED lights have built in power supplies that have to take the AC and convert it back to DC.
