In reading an article about buildings lost due to wildfires I was surprised to hear that a lot of cabins burned from within rather than from without. That meant that the fire burned it's way across the ground and underneath the cabin or attached wooden deck rather than starting on the roof.

I found a couple of products that can be applied to the support beams and posts of your cabin or deck that will help prevent the lumber from catching fire.
