I found this product mentioned as an alternative for wooden deck lumber. The one thing I've always been worried about is the fact that in a wildfire situation you may have built the cabin out of fire resistant materials (metal roof, cement board siding, etc) but usually there is a wooden deck attached. All you need is for the deck to catch fire right next to the cabin and everything is gone.
This product is called "Lifetime Lumber" and it has either a class A or class B fire rating that conforms with California's "Wildland Urban Interface" requirements. Apparently it contains no wood and is made with recycled mineral ash and other non flammable materials.
