Ok if you have 1290 x 1380 x 500 feet how many acres do you have??? It is a triangle peice of land and any help would be appreciated!!!

Guessing at 1290 as base and 500 as height you have about 7.4
acres.

The lenght is 1380 & 1290 and wide 500 feet. this is a triangle peice of land.

If I take 1380 x 500 =690000 half would be 345000 divide by 43560
would equal 7.9 acres is this close?? If one side is shorter it would be some what less then 7.9. What do you think????

OK, multiple 500 X 1380, then divide by 2 (in half because its a triangle) and you have 345,000 sq feet. There is 43,560 sq feet in an acre, so you have 7.92 acres

I think these measurements are all high as this is an irregular triangle so the standard base and height approach does not work. Use Herons formula. Look the formula up if you like math and do it by hand OR use
Area Calculator . The area comes out to 322490.88 square feet or about 7.4 acres.

I think the formula we used is accurate enough. An irregular triangle is just more like a prallelogram cut in half diagonally. If we are only differing by .2 acres (I came up with 7.2, you get 7.4), split the difference, its .1, not bad either way for a bunch of rookies. 
Now a trapezoid cut in half....
