Can anyone recommend any good cabin oriented books? I have lots of pretty coffee-table type picture books, but only one that deals with and gives alot of ideas for an off-grid cabins:
http://www.amazon.com/Build-Your-Dream-Cabin-Woods/dp/1592283292/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s =books&qid=1196385037&sr=8-1
After reading this title over and over about 20 times, I'm looking for something else.

Hi "Nervous wife", Yes, I already have the Dale Mulfinger book, but it is more of a picture book than a how-to guide, though I have gained a bit of inspiration from it. I have found a couple of books since my original posting that I can recommend: Cabins: A Guide to Building Your Own Nature Retreat by David and Jeanie Stiles And also: Rustic Retreats: A Build-It-Yourself Guide by the same authors. Both are very good with a lot of how-to drawings for building as well as a number of other things.

Rustic Retreats- I definitely agree.... OR any of these three from Lloyd Kahn "Homework", "Shelter", and/or "Builders Of The Pacific Coast".
I also just (this week) released my own indie-press small housing/cabin/fort/shack book...
