I am offering month-long internships for a cabin-building project in Alaska next summer. We will build an off-grid getaway cabin, 16x16 A-frame with timber-frame methods. Travel expenses (from lower 48) and room and board are provided. For information on the application process, write to cabin.internship at gmail dot com. Or see www.cabin-thebook.com.

Didn't click the link but if I was young and unencumbered it sure sounds like fun. Always wanted to see Alaska, probably never will.

But I have seen North to Alaska and Alone in the Wilderness 500 times.

Find a way...it'll be worth everything you have to do to get there. I will never forget my solo hike over the mountain to see Dick P. cabin....his journals and the videos do none of it any justice. It truly is a landscape/remoteness like no other.

Couldn't get the link to work for me. Call me skeptical.

Paulz, you should come up for a visit. Just a plane ride away.
