Dear members,
My post is not advertising. I posted it to discuss a project and posting news.
Several years ago, I decided to build my own house. Probably, like a most private house builder, I decided to do some of the construction work on my own. This allows me to save my money and make some work much better than the hired specialists can do.
During building works, I was constantly faced with preliminary routine work - systematization of design control and technical guidance, constructions design, preparation of drawings, calculation of material consumption, etc. For some work, I attracted professionals for advice and assistance at the construction site. Also, they helped me to design some calculations. As a result, I understood that no matter skill level of a specialist has, preparatory design work takes a fairly large share of his work. Such design work is necessary and can be carried out by specialized organizations. But for private house builder, there should be a simpler alternative – a special tool.
For a skilled builder, preliminary design is a routine but familiar and straightforward process. For a beginner and private house builders, this is an insurmountable obstacle that requires excellent skills not only in construction, but also in mathematics, drawing, physics. There are now tens and hundreds of thousands of such private house builders throughout the country. And they are all waiting for a solution, looking for it on the Internet.
After going through all the stages of construction on my house, I got a number of app snippets for automating some construction calculations. My physical and technical higher education and knowledge of programming languages helped me in this. At some point, I decided that my app snippets can be useful not only to me, but also to thousands of other people: professional builders and those who have just started building their own house.
In 2014 I founded an IT company and created an online service with house building calculators - KALK.PRO. The KALK.PRO service has been constantly evolving and updating with various new tools. At the moment, the service is a cloud app with an adaptive interface that allows you to receive all the necessary information about the construction of a particular structural element, having only an initial set of data.
There are over 150 calculators:
— roofs: shed (pent), gable, hipped, pyramidal (estimate, drawings, 3D model); — stairs: straight, L-shaped, U-shaped, spiral (estimates, drawings, 3D-model); — foundation: plate (estimate); — building blocks: bricks, foam concrete, aerated concrete, gas silicate (estimates); — building materials and finishing: self-leveling floor, wallpaper, tiles, grout, plaster, putty... (estimates); — heating: heat losses, boiler power, radiators, floor heating... (calculations); — piping: pipe diameter, water flow rate, water velocity... (calculations); — ventilation: ventilation performance, air duct, air conditioner, kitchen range hood (calculations); — lumber (calculations); — electricity (calculations)…
Some calculators are the best of its kind.
During calculator app developing, we try to take into design control and technical guidance, reference materials, recommendations. However, it should be noted that it is impossible to take into all the guidances and lay down all possible initial conditions. Therefore, like any tool, they require a basic understanding of the calculation process. KALK.PRO calculators are perfect for automating typical calculations, have minimal error and do not require special knowledge to work with the interface. Calculator apps can significantly speed up and simplify many processes, but are not able to completely replace a graduated specialist, common sense or knowledge
All calculators are FULLY FREE and do not require registration. But it should be noted than app developing and maintenance of such a project as KALK.PRO does requires a lot of money. We try do not show advertising on the site in order not to annoy users when calculating, and as an alternative for some calculations, we introduced subscriptions for a symbolic fee, which provide additional app extensions.
It is very important for us to receive feedback - suggestions, comments, feedback. We are open for cooperation and new ideas.
I would be glad to have any questions. Thanks for your time!

If it swims like a fish? If it floats like a fish? If it smells like a fish? Pretty much gotta be a fish! My calculator says summer is winding down. Calculator? You ask? The pencil markers on the window trim marking the sunrise every day. Has moved almost a foot since April.

Simply saying that something is or is not a certain thing, does not ring the truth bell.
The earth is flat.

Let me be honest with you.
We are from Russia, we use such tools extensively here and they meet our requirements (GOST, SNiP...). There are more than 150 construction calculators available for Russian-speaking users.
Our main region, ex-USSR, if you can call it that. As an experiment, we tried to adapt for other languages professional 3D tools for stairs and roofs (no analogues with the same conditions).
The experiment was a success, these tools were very much liked by the majority of users around the world.
So we thought, why not adapt the other tools for the rest of the world as well, if they are in demand.
But the thing is, OUR regulations are not always the same as those of other countries.
We need help on local regulations, we are looking for advice.
And yes, Russians not only drink vodka and play the balalaika, but also have a high level of IT and construction.

This is pretty much a diy, help as one can, website for small cabin enthusiasts. We certainly welcome those with knowledge, skills, and even 'credentials' if they fit that mindset/criteria So, I guess, my questions are: Is that your intension? What do you want/expect in return?

Almost all US states follow the IRC rules. The IRC updates its code every three years. Each state government can choose which year series they will be using and when they will update to the newest. As well, each state government may choose to modify sections.
Then each local jurisdiction within a state may make changes to the basic state-selected IRC version, but only to make a code section more stringent, not less strict.

It may be a spammy post, but it is more useful than the typical spam that might be to call Joe's Plumbing for an estimate or to buy Viagra or something.
There has been a lot of work put into this. A quick rough look at the staircase calculator reveals that this could be quite a useful tool and seems to accurately calculate rise/run etc and indicates where the dimension need to be altered to make for a better staircase. For a code compliant US job the user would have to be conversant with the US code restrictions or limits. Staircases can be a bugger to make compliant with code.

Thank you this is very useful information.
It's an interesting experience. Because in our country it is the same for all regions, despite the fact that we also have a federation.

FWIW, IMO, this link is not the same as most of the spam and we see. The author was almost honest in the first post and did come clean, in my view, in their next post. They do offer a lot at no cost to the user. Sure, they have a premium service but that is an extra.
I do not pay much attention to most spam but if memory serves me well, many spam posts are totally disingenuous postings, like when the post asks us what we think of some idea or product and posts a link to it. Or, more obvious perhaps, the new post appears in an old topic that has not been seen for years and contains a link to repair service. Those types of posts give us nothing useful for the most part. Our new Russian member does not seem to be in that camp. I say give them the benefit of the doubt.
My 2 cents. (1.44 Russian Ruble)
