Been awhile since I've popped on the site. Nice to see the projects that are being built. This brutal winter has been the perfect weather for sauna night cool downs.
I spent the summer and fall building my favorite building at our cabin get away.

Your cabin is butt and pass, no? Having one of each now, which do you recommend?

Nice!! Are y'all mostly building these freehand from general knowledge or using sauna specific plans?

I didn't build the main cabin. It's been holding its own just fine for 12 years. No troubles.
I've always been intrigued by the old Finnish homesteads around my area so the dovetail construction method has always been on my mind. Not too complicated to construct. About an hour per timber (15 minutes or so per notch)

We purchased our cabin and outbuildings including sauna five years ago. The sauna is vertical log built in early 1980's.

Oh, I love the look of vertical log buildings. Love the look of that roof, too. Is it a cedar shingle roof, or just regular shingles with moss and duff on them? What climate are you located in?

I am in Northern MN, it is asphalt roof shingles with lots of duff, moss on it....we are in a very shaded grove of old cedar trees so sunlight gets there but not long each day!
