So this is the beginning. I picked up a waterfront lot just north of wawa ontario. While wait for the snow and ice to disappear here's my outhouse build over the weekend. I have it so I can take it apart in pieces and put it up when I bring it up there. Stay tuned for lot pics, putting the outhouse over the hole and eventually my cabin build.

I'll be having the hole dug in the next couple weeks as soon as the snow and frost is gone. Will be scrubbing my hole. Building it to last.

Nice going Princelake! Lots of fellow Ontarians on here.
I would imagine it should be good in a week or so. My property is out towards Bon Echo/Plevna area and up until a week ago there was a foot of snow still. The last week has been warmer and this week is going to be nice.
I will be up in a week to assemble my outhouse and get my build started on a small bunk cabin.
I dropped off my outhouse about a month ago but there was too much snow to get down my driveway.

Before you dig your hole take a hard look at composting toilets. It is the way to go! Lived in Wawa in the early 80s and was starting to build a place on Kabenung Lake when I moved out west - never finished it. Fantastic country and people around Wawa.

run a Black vent pipe from the poop hole, through the ceiling and it will breath and stay odor free. Many great video's on utube.

Quoting: spoofer run a Black vent pipe from the poop hole, through the ceiling and it will breath and stay odor free.
Or, if your vent pipe doesn't get sun to heat it up, add a fan like I did (with a solar panel and battery.) Enjoying an odor free outhouse w/ a 24/7/365 fan so far.

What about putting a 55 gal veg oil drum in there? Cut out the bottom, drill holes around the sides.....works well in the desert, may not if your soil won't cooperate....

Look exactly like mine. Except my have screened vents on the front and sides. It helps keep the poop house poop smell free...or minimized it. GOOD JOB!!
