I am new here, my brother is a master wood worker and has a sawmill. me and him and some friends are headed towards the end of a cabin build that me and my wife will be living in. it has been my dream for years. we are in SC a block from the Edisto river. the land is 4 acres on a beautiful lot that me and my wife hand cleared about 10 tears ago. we cleared about 2 1/2 acres. I have photos from the start. the cabin is 750 sqft. it is large I guess as far as cabins go. it has been a lot of hard work. it has a 5v crimp galvalume tin roof. it is hard to tell in the photo. I will post better photos later. we have been working on it for about one year now.null

null nullhere is a photo of when we were getting started good, and another of my fox hound some less than human threw out and left to starve. when I found her she was nothing but ribs and scared to death from abuse. I never take a stray home but this one I am glad I did! her name is Lucy and as I type she is asleep on my couch. she has been house broke and all shots and spaded, and now has a good home and loves playing around her new cabin.

beautiful place, love the cedar posts. And Cyprus should last forever. I have a 1920's boat made of Cyprus that is still going strong.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice looking cabin you are building there olskool. The porch post are so cool and make the cabin unique. Sounds like a great local as well near a river. Catch any fish in the river? If so, what species?

We built 4 summers ago. It has been fun for us acquiring the furnishing and such. Maybe you can keep us posted with pics.

Oh btw, welcome to the forum.
