Hi- new member here. Just fulfilled a lifelong dream and finally bought a cabin with 7 acres in NH. It is surrounded by hundreds of acres of conservation land.
Cabin is 20x24. Nice running stream in front.Composting toilet.12V system with 120 throughout as well. 3500 watt gen. included. Homemade water system with nice shower and sink.
I closed on it Thursday and stayed the night.
I was expecting a few glitches and I got them. There is a problem with 12v system and the roof had a leak.
Still an awesome place- trying to learn as much as I can about my cabin and upgrades I could make.
Looking forward to my new get a way

Welcome to the forum. Take a bunch of pics on a sunny day and post them. Sounds like a nice property with a stream in front! Fish in the stream?

There are no fish in the stream but there are 2 ponds that border the property that have fish as well as another about 12 min ATV ride.
We have 3 kids, 16 14 and 11. The plan is to go up there as many times as possible since it's only a 2.5 hr ride. We haven't told the kids yet- busy with school activities for awhile longer
Woll also give me a chance to get some things fixed before we go up as a family for the first time

Here are some interior pics. The inside can be a little dark in the daytime.Thinking about adding a skylight over staircase. I'm a carpenter so it shouldn't be a problem.
I discovered a roof leak, flashing boot for vent pipe. I don't have any experience with metal roofing so I may get a price from a local guy. I have 2 vents and a woodstove so I'm just planning on replacing all 3.

Hello fellow New Englander and NH part timer....
My family and I recently purchased property in NH as well.
Southwestern NH just north of Keene....We passed papers a day or two after Christmas and have been working on it ever since. Not a lot of snow this year but COLD....
It was and is in need of a lot of work but I'm plugging away at it.....
It's just far enough and close enough from civilization for us.
We can get to Keen in 15 or 20 min....Brattleboro VT is only 30 min away.
We're only 90 min from home in MA.

What region you in?

I'm a little NW of Manchester - I live in RI so I have a little longer ride than you.
I go through Worcester and it takes me about 2.5 hours. The ride is a breeze - have land in ME that I bought years ago that is 4.5 hours away.
I love being in NH

Hello from NewEngland as well.
Nice place you have there..very similar to what I have going on. Im in NorthCentral Ma and regularly end up in NH on ATVs. Also 30 mins from Brattleboro.

Welcome to the area! Your cabin looks absolutely great, and should be a sweet spot for the family. I am about 25 minutes north of Brattleboro in Vermont. Lots of beautiful land in the area, enjoy your exploring!
