Oh there will be woodpeckers. They love nothing like a good reverberant metal side building to say "hellllooooo ladies."

Quoting: sparky30_06 When's the christening chili cook?? Mr. Amish says it will be done in a week. His crew needs to hang 5 cabinets, countertop, put down 400 sq. ft. of laminate flooring, and install a direct vent propane heater. The deer archery season is coming fast (Oct.1) here in NY. No time to waste.........

Well, it does seem Mother Nature solved the mud problem, well at least till Spring Thaw anyways and she'll remind you of tasks ahead at that time LOL... Never get away from that cranky ol' girl.
Looking good in any case, are you going up through winter as well or just all locked up for the season ? Hope you do get to enjoy it up there in winter as well...
I meant to ask before, what brand is that little propane stove you have there ? Is that one with a battery powered ignitor or ?

Steve_S..... I plan to use it some during the winter months. Just takes a few hours to heat up, and a bunch of hours to warm up the floor. We will start the heater and then go out to lunch/dinner while it heats up. Or, get my neighbor to start it up for me a few hours before i get there.
It is a 30,000 BTU Williams direct vent propane furnace. Has a "matchless pilot igniter". It is gravity, no blower. See it here:

Deer, how did you seal the top and bottom of the siding to keep bugs from getting underneath?

Dave.......Not sure because I did not build this myself, and was not on site every day of the build. I did see some tubes of construction adhesive, and expanding foam when I was there. I have not had any bug issues, but it wasn't finished until September.

That is a fine cabin, you should be proud owning it. I also have 40 acres and have found it to be the perfect size for my wants and needs. I hope you enjoy your slice of heaven as much as I enjoy mine.
