Happy New Year, all! I'm a bit late on my wishes to some and just in time for others!
Busy times here but 2016 is off to a good start. My son finally moved into his own place. Hooray!!!!! I was starting to worry that when my house went up for sale in Spring I was going to have to reassure prospective buyers that, no, he didn't "come with the house."
I was born and raised in Pennsylvania so the traditional New Year's meal for me is pork and sauerkraut. I fixed a lovely pork loin, mashed potatoes with parsnip and fresh garlic, and sauerkraut sautéed in sage butter. Major yum! Not being a fan of black-eyed peas, I have NOT adopted the Southern traditions in regard to "lucky" foods and will stick with my own.
Hope everyone enjoyed their celebrations, any way they celebrate!
