If it was not for this forum I would not have gotten all the ideas to build my cabin a couple years ago, Thanx you guys. our cabin is in Florida, yes it is damn hot, but air conditioning makes it tolerable. I'm not a good photographer but here is a couple pictures of our little cabin on 12 acres in dense NW Florida woods. Building this cabin was the best thing I ever did. We truly enjoy the weekend warrior cabin life This summer I added on a little bedroom to open the main cabin up. watcha think? 20150509_112648_resi.jpg

Good job, good work. Slice O' Heaven.
North Florida? South Florida? Near water? Everglades? Kind of looks like south Georgia Piney Woods country. But I don't know the area well.

I looked two years for waterfront property. I had absolutely no luck, either too expensive or too crappy, or both. Went the woods route and glad we did. We are in the Panhandle..... Southern Alabama / Georgia

I know the feeling...come to south florida. Even hoter, and both $$$$ and crappy.

I really like the inside of your cabin...especially your wooden door locks! My mom and dad owned a piece of property in Defuniak Springs...years ago. That's probably west of you a bit.. Great build...welcome to the forum!

Looks great! Former south Floridian here, used to canoe/backpack the Suwannee River basin. Always wanted to get some land there, but too far away for me now. I'll be living vicariously through your postings!

Nice work on the addition, you did the add on right, ie gable roof etc instead of the easy way out and a lean too roof. More work, but looks right.
Nice little place you have there. I remember when you first posted the build.

I could not get my so called loft to work out that well so out it came. it was only a little bigger than the size of a queen mattress, hard to get up and down and settled in with a low ceiling. not friendly for guys my age. plus it took up too much room. we don't have guests out for the night very often so removing it helped open the main room up. I put up a storage shelf instead. went to an army navy store and got 2 cots in case of visitors plus the old air mattress standby. I also caved in and installed a cheap -old school- antenna and booster for a TV. we get 5 channels. interior door looks better green than white 20151110_202122.jpg
