If you did not have to mow grass you would have finished a long time ago. Everything looks great, beautiful cabin and land. Just wondering, has the Marcellus Shale drilling impacted you in anyway?

Thanks Neb !
Kudzu: Most of the wells around there are older shallow wells. Don't know of any fracked wells near the cabin. But home in ohio they are drilling everywhere and building 3 gas cracker plants in our county.

Had one hell of day today getting to cabin On my way there had a tire pressure sensor go bad thought I was getting a flat tire . Then when I'm on road to cabin had a tree accross road and I forgot to bring chain saw, had to hoof it the last 1/2mile to cabin to get some slings to hook to tree and. Pull it out with truck . Had a. Gulley washer a few days before and had debris everywhere to clean up while mowing. Did get everything mowed and weed eating done ,but it was a long day

Cabin owners sure are a durable, determined and industrious group, huh? We make it work one way or the other, then we have a good laugh over it later in the day okay...sometimes it takes a little longer to see the humor, but eventually, we laugh!

Slow and steady wins the race, right?
He reminds me of my oldest son when he was about that age. So cute! Wish I could flash back and experience a day again with all the older kids when they were younger....I'd probably be super worn out though! LOL.

LOL....makes me crave a peach like the juicy one I had yesterday!!!! It was really delicious
What kind of wood is that for your ceiling? It sure is going to look nice. Is it tongue and groove? I'm glad you have been getting a lot of work done...fall time is normally quite productive for us.

I've done a lot of T&G and the gable ends are a pain. You want to cut the boards close to size, but then they are hard to get in. I wonder if we installed the boards from the top down until the wall plate, if that would be much easier. Maybe the boards could be upside down so you can still hide the nails, then use a small trim strip where the lower wall meets the gable pieces. I've never tried it, just looking for a better way. The last cabin I built, we did the gable boards vert. that was a little better.

Thanks for the tip Owen! But I'm using plywood for walls and gable ends. I only have enough tongue & groove to finish bedroom and bathroom and kitchen ceilings , hope to get them done next week. I do think your idea of working from the top down would be easier!
