What a cute little future cabin builder your grandson is!

Your going to really enjoy your porch when you get it done...it looks like a nice size.

Finally got out of hibernation and made it down to cabin.
Been two months since last trip.
Nice break in the weather 70 degrees
Got porch framed in and put sheeting and felt and drip edge on roof.
Put siding around bottom of porch and measured for screens and door.

True, it will...but not tonight. We are under a winter storm warning. We are suppose to get 5 to 9 inches of snow at home, but up to 13 at our cabin. Last Friday we got 20 inches at the cabin! I'm not minding the snow. I actually love it, I just wish I was snowed in at the cabin

Spent Saturday at the cabin
Finished screening in porch and screen door.
Then did some inside work wiring up the cabin.
Next trip I'm going to have to mow everything and do some weeding.

Is it the dreaded black flies? Or skeeters?

Mostly wasps ,bumblebees , hornets
They really don't bother me much but the grandkids get terrified. Lol
That's y we decided on the screen porch ,hopefully they will feel protected from them.
I try to keep plenty of birds. Around hoping they will eat as many as possible the phoebes are very good insect eaters. I have built two boxes for them but they still don't use them ,they build nests under eaves instead and I have to end. Up removing them.
I really like to hear the birds songs and try to challenge the grandkids to identify them , they r starting to learn . I hope to have more. Time for such things instead of having to work all the time.

Nice job. Our grass is just growing now, a little touch up last night.
PS. that's quite a header for an inside wall.

Fun to see the inside pics. Glad you got to go spend time at your place. We hauled the mower up to our place and there was nothing to mow yet...we are close to Owen. You really could have made hay

Owen:
Those were scrap 2x6s that I got from work , Just had to pull out the nails and staples, so I over engineered it a little.. LOL

Troll:
Hopefully I can start getting some work done on the inside and get more inside pics. But it is pretty small inside only 16x24.
I hope spring comes soon for ya. Really getting hot here been in the 90s a couple of times.

Hate doing the itchy, itchy dance from working around insulation

Sounds like you've been keeping busy...isn't it fun to accomplish more and more

We don't get to go to our cabin this weekend, but we will have lot's to do at home instead, some of it won't be much fun though

Looks good! You are right some of the work is not always fun. LOL My biggest concern was to get things closed up from the weather then I could enjoy the rest and even the ugly work. Have fun that is what it is all about.
