Heading to town tomorrow to buy a 6 way dozer blade for my bobcat track loader... Was doing some logging today.
 
So we've discovered the driveway turns to horrible mud really quick with rain, this was driving the kid to the school bus and back
Since I live on a volcano, there is literally non stop lava rock... I started mining it with my brush rake the other day....
Comes out nice!

Wow- if you don't mind- satisfy my curiosity a bit-
That military truck was quite an expense I'm sure. Roughly what do those cost? Was your plan to keep it to use for weekend picnics 15 miles from the closest jeep trail? No seriously- did you decide to buy it and then sell it later, or keep it for other projects? AMAZING investment to make for the sake of developing one parcel- but maybe cheaper than paying transport for your containers. You must have juggled a few numbers in your head before you bought- how did all that settle out?

It was $6500 us. Pretty cheap for a virtually brand new truck! The US army did a complete refurbish on it before they liquidated it. I'm converting it to a dump truck next, might even put a plow on it. It's a tool that will have many purposes, including revenue as it will get places no other dump trucks can.

We installed our wood stove a while back too, forgot to post some pictures, it's a blazeking Chinook 30, and for a hearth I grabbed two huge slabs of granite, they are about 5' long, 14" thick, and 2' deep... I built a wall underneath the floor to support them!
They look a bit out of place with the unfinished interior... It will work when we're all done.
And we have heat!
As far as the cabin we're turning into a house goes, we hired sipbc to build and install sip panels on the exterior of the post and beam structure to properly insulate the place, they are also building a set of rough cut timber stairs we get tomorrow so we can actually access the loft.
Here is the preliminary design to get dimensions sorted out
My wife and I happened upon an awesome supply of stone for masonry work inside and outside the house... And it's free.
Did a quick dry stack wall to see how it was to work with. It splits nicely, and has tons of character.
This is the driveway at the bottom of the property were at the top of the mountain in the background

you worry about the water freezing in the tanks ? Also what size pump are you using to supply cabin

Not worried about the freezing.... I plan to insulate the crawl space before it gets really cold.
The well pump gets me about 10gpm at the house, and then the grundfos pressure pump does the house, it's quite impressive, I have way more water pressure than I did with city water.

Started on the stairs, and got a beam in to span the loft full length to gain some space for bedrooms
 
Had to build an access road to the septic field area so I can get gravel in
And found a cool tiny Lake a few minutes behind my place
