Maybe you should pick up your awesome little cabin and plant it on my lot to the west of you. Great neighbors, ponds behind you. I just got an offer with the park service in Alaska. Trying to decide if I should bug out to the north.

Hey Badge, I thought you were already up there.

As for planting shacks, I may do just that.
Considering buying patches of land in the area, and building whimsical little weekend abodes, then Craig's listing 'em.

Maybe we can swing some deals....a sorta partnership thing (those always work out.....NOT)

Anyway, keep us posted on yer exploits.

I live and work in Oregon. Got the place in Alaska for vacations and the future. But just got a full time job offer up there. So, might not need my place down by you anymore. The place w the brown trout in the ponds.

Ah

Nice

I'd take it in a heart beat

What will you be asking for your place in Oregon?

Not sure/negotiable, how do we email? If nothing else, good to have a contact close to the place.

Looks like we'll be moving to the cabin by late April....or sooner

Just had to chop out the ice away from the gate, and we were in

Heh, that....was a job
About three inches of glacier ice clinging to terra firma
Short work for the mattock
Coulda been shorter......I'm pooped

Man, I'm waaay outa shape
Town living was decadent

Brought a few things back up to the cabin today

Warm enough to prime the pump in the wellhouse

Took awhile

while I wait, I always wonder if it's gonna happen

Took three attempts to get a prime

I always get happy when I hear the gurgle and the water bursts thru and flows

So much to do up here

So little to do in town

Guess I had to do a year in town to realize some things

I could sell this water.....and air

Tightened up the interior of the A frame
Guess my lady doesn't care much for my furry friends getting in and having their way with her kitchen

The shop is a mess
Felt sorta good to happily angrily giddily toss stuff around in disgust, while looking for things

Took several pulls to start the gennys
The big one (8750 watt) was not meant for pull starting
Needed a mule and an ape to pull that crank
Happily I have enough of both left in me to get it goin'
After running a half hour, the battery charged back up
Push button start is rather nice

Next load or two will be just for the shop
Drives me nuts to see it in such poor order
Gonna take a full day or two to set it up the way I like it

Then.....the big (final) move, weather permitting

Next week is gonna big a big one

Forgot what tired was like

Sleep will come easy

Oh, and after finding out we were moving back, my bud in Wyoming sent me his next issue of Cabin Monthly;

Ok, the $8.45 Cdn is a little steep on the exchange rate, but I would have to agree, "Now is the time to retrieve that lost wallet".

Good humour your friend has there Gary. Hope the move back to the cottage goes well and welcome home.

Thanks, Fish

It'll be good to be nestled back into our abode.

My bud used to be a rival on a now defunct humor forum.
Lotsa playful competition
Now, we're best friends

Life.....is funny that way

Hi Gary,
Nice to hear you are moving back if that's where the heart is calling.. Is this a full time thing or just for the spring, summer and Fall?

Year round
At least two...maybe three years
or
forever

a large part of my soul is out there

No worries about touching anything in those mountains.....yet

Totally moved back now.
Took two days to git-r-done.

Slept like an overfed dawg last night
Pillow could'a been a rock with moss on it...didn't matter.
Fell into the covers and it was lights out.
Drooled a river
Face felt like a glazed donut this morn

I aged a bit in town.
Gonna take some weeks to get back in shape

Did well in town, making/selling avian abodes, and even though the boutiques are closed due to the covid thing, I've got more orders from private individuals.

aaand, strongly considering marketing what I've made.

I'm calling it my chipnic table

They're all over the web, so I thought I'd make my rendition;

Of course my little buddy will be the star of the show

Maybe make a poster to tug at heart strings a bit

Your chipnic table looks amazing!!

Years ago I had something similar. It was a chair with a table attached and a spike sticking up on the table. You put a cob of corn on the spike and the squirrel would sit at the table and pull the corn kernals off the cob. It was really so cute to watch!!! Maybe you could do something like that too. Just a thought.

Good luck with your sales. Given the COVID-19, people are spending more time sitting outside and enjoying nature so your timing is perfect for something like this!

Hi to cabingal!!

A summer update

Yesterday I thought a day couldn't get any better

...that was yesterday

I hope I'm not disappointed in heaven

The sun shown to 88°F

A bath, soaking up sun and water, never felt so good

Our summer bathe room;

Geezer attached;

'Naked I came';

forgot to mow the 'lawn' again;

Still fat
My summer uniform;

End of day is getting to be my favorite
Like me, ol' sol don't die easy
His shards of rays hitting here and there

Y'all keep a fire

Hear?

You are living the dream Gary. Speaking for myself, seeing your posts helps maintain my motivation to finish my cabin. Heading up on Sunday for a 3 week stint. I should be able to put a lot of projects to bed...and hopefully squeeze in some sweet relaxation too.

Thanks for sharing.
