minus 10 this morn.
gary o opened the door to the cabin.it was like he was walking into a freezer.
its bath day.cut hair and beard.get a bath in front of the good ole woodstove.
making pancakes this morning.
getting to the outhouse takes a bit of building up to do.even insulation wrapped on the ole seat...u still have to brace yourself for the coldness.
its beautiful outside though.
today i am doing chores and then some last minute knitting for someone special.
gary o runs around outside with an open shirt and shorts.lol.he said today he might be switching over to long pants.lol.so funny.
happy days here.

I always wear my shorts well into fall and early winter in the hopes it will extend the warm weather. It worked last year- we had warm weather in early December. But usually I relent by about 35F.

It's crazy how much colder you get than we do. Still, I see mostly kids wearing shorts in this weather and scratch my head. But Gary is a kid at heart so it works!

Merry Christmas to you and Cabingal!! Your place looks so snug and warm! But....next year I expect to see you put a little more effort into your wood pile. Something like these examples below.

Wow, it blows my mind how much more snow you get than I do! How much colder it is there, too! You are two brave and hearty souls! I would've turned tail and fled by now, hahahaha. Unless I was all built and on-grid!

Maybe I should stop shaving my legs, in hopes of insulation, lol.

Julie.it was so dog gone cold on xmas day.
oh my gosh.biting cold.
we were suppose to go to our off grid friends.they had adopted us and grandma and grandpa.
so i go into the kitchen.it was soo cold...all my canned goods were frozen and covered in ice.
i was suppose to bring two pies.a dutch apple and a pumpkin pie.as i was mixing the ingredients for the pie crust it was freezing in the pan.lol.
i finally opened a can with the can opener.next year i am getting a ax to open frozen cans.
so i go outside with my pies.try to turn on my bbq grill.the knobs are frozen.so i run get water to pour on the knobs.they un hinge and i can cook.
we made it to xmas.they declared the pies good.
we had alot of fun on xmas evening cause of this sweet litttle off grid family.
they got me a manual food chopper.they have one and they say it works really good.
i put our turkey by the bottom of the door in the bedroom.it froze.
we have places for food everywhere.
in our fridge the milk froze and the eggs froze.
its cold out.
today was so nice.a high of 38 degrees.we worked out side and took our change to get propane tanks filled and gasoline.
it is so warm and nice out.
praise God for a warm day.
