Those doors are INCREDIBLE! They almost look like speakeasy doors!!!! Just add the little grill and door on the inside over the window and they ARE speakeasy doors! You are mega-talented.

Happy trails. Don't forget to mix a little Geritol in your beer, fiber in your orange juice, and statins with your steak. I'd be young and spry if I wasn't old and stiff, guess I better listen to the doctor.

we are done with the shop.well almost.we are just today leveling pavers to put a back porch onto the shop for the generators to be on in winter. then we put a porch on our cabin.it is so nice.the mister hauled the bbq up on the porch for me to cook in when winter comes. today we leveled the back porch. still dont quite feel confidant about winters firewood ...so the mister and i both split wood and gathered it up and stacked it.we have 8 cords.now more. we stay busy with the good life.hope everyone is doing good. i am gonna spend the whole winter spinning wool into yarn. by spring.i should have lots of yarn. front of shop
| inside of shop.all things put away in the proper place
| porch on the cabin.sure handy
| wood for winter

I love the look of the doors on the shop. All those windows will really help keep it bright in there. That covered back porch will be great to cook on in the winter. It looks like you're all ready to hunker down, spin wool and let GaryO build stuff. Great work!!! Congratulations!!!!

well i guess i should have been more clear.sorry.the cabin has the porch.the shop is the other building.it has no back porch yet but soon. thanks Just.did get a chance to skin and eat two rabbits last winter.then got to tan the rabbit fur. then a friend brought over a rooster who was mean.i had never plucked a rooster or gutted one before. when i was ten years old.i did pluck the feathers from my dads ducks he killed but he dunked the ducks in hot water.man! those feathers came out so easy. next time i get a chicken.i will skin it instead. gonna use the rabbit fur for trimming on some gloves i made. thanks hattie so much.i am ready for winter. gars gonna finish some closet doors for me.make a couple of gates. we are getting ready.hugs and thank u both.

Hi cabingal: I wanted to pass on some really interesting information Bob's nephew told us a month or so ago. He is a hunter and also does a lot of cooking. He told me to soak small game (grouse, rabbit, etc.) in buttermilk to thaw. The day before you use it, take it out of the freezer and put it in a bowl of buttermilk. The buttermilk will make it really tender. I have tried it a couple of times now and it works like a charm. I used to just use salt water and a bay leaf, but this works quite well (but more expensive than the salt water method). If you get something that you think will be tough, I'd give it a try.

So as not to waste ,rabitt's feet make great Christmas gifts . Place feet in a small paper container cover in salt let stand in dry wsrm place fo a week , after a week remove from salt and place on a shelf above the stove till hard and dry. Brush off any visable salt. Cover the boney end with the polished brass of a spent shotgun shell (20 gage fits best). glue in place. Drill a small hole in the brass to add a key chain or neck string . Kids love them. Great to hear from you two. .

Just - that's exactly what we do with the rabbit's feet! I have a really nice one on my key chain and we have given others to the grandsons. They look great when they are all done up like that. Instead of the spent shotgun shell, Bob uses the top part of a CO2 cartridge. He shoots them with an airgun. He uses a cotterpin to make the "eye" for the keychain.
The hide (when preserved) makes really pretty and unique doilies on furniture.
